Other important topics include expert advice on selecting, proper care, training, grooming, and nutrition. The first dogs author Marion Mondshine obtained from the Attas line of Chihuahuas were of companion dog quality, but by 1979 she had bred her first Chihuahua champion with the descendents of those original dogs. Her success in breeding and showing Chihuahuas led to her active involvement in the Houston Chihuahua Club and the Houston Kennel Club. She also became active in the Texas Dog Judge's Association when she began to judge Chihuahuas for the American Kennel Club.
